THE PRP Facial (sometimes known as a Vampire Facial or Liquid Gold Facial), is an aesthetic skincare procedure that combines platelet rich plasma (PRP) with micro-needle stimulation and nappage (superficial injections). It is aimed at rejuvenating the skin by inducing collagen production which helps to improve:
✔️ Skin elasticity, texture and tone
✔️ The appearance of fine lines
✔️ Acne scars
✔️ Large pores
As part of the procedure, a small amount of blood will be taken from your arm and captured in test tubes. These are then placed onto a centrifuge machine and spun until the PRP is separated from the red blood cells - the PRP is a golden coloured fluid (hence Liquid Gold). The PRP is drawn up into a syringe and this is then injected (nappage) and needled (skin needled) into your face.
I don't mind telling you I was nervous about this one!! Whilst I was familiar with the techniques used to perform the treatment, I certainly wasn't familiar with taking blood from my clients. I failed more times than I succeeded with my initial attempts. Practice makes perfect though and, thanks to our wonderful team and amazing clients, I was allowed plenty of practice. One of my regulars came in for an eyebrow wax and tint and ended up losing a couple of test tubes of blood. Now that I've got that element perfected there's no stopping me and the feedback has been amazing! I'm now 4 weeks in and clients are rebooking for their 2nd treatments (is there a better way to measure success??).
